South Africa’s First Female Ambassador to Norway

A Roaring Success at Reiseliv Tourism Fair in Lillestrøm
The Embassy’s participation at the Norway International Tourism and Travel Trade Fair 2009 (Reiseliv), proved to be a roaring success. The three-day fair, which took place 8-11 January at Lillestrøm, just outside Oslo, attracted more than 37,000 visitors, and South Africa’s stand proved to be extremely popular. Read more
 

 

Africa Day at International School
Africa Day was celebrated in style with a fundraising event at the Oslo International School in Bekkestua on 7 March. A range of African Embassies were represented, and each of them showed off the best their countries had to offer. Visitors even got the chance to sample food from many of the different countries.  Read more
 

 

International Food Evening
Tasty treats from around the world were being served up at the Oslo International School, which played host to the 25th annual food evening on 28 March. The Embassy was one of the 17 countries who presented their dishes to visitors. The South African stand proved to be popular with food cooked by the Embassy’s staff. Read more
 

 

South Africa Sinks the Vikings
The “Madiba Magic” that inspired numerous sporting events, reinvented itself as the “Umsholozi Magic”, as President Jacob Zuma inspired Bafana Bafana to victory over Norway in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge on 28 March at the stunning Royal Bafokeng stadium. Read more
